CBSE Class 10th Board Exam Cancel and Class 12 Board Exam Postponed due to increasing in COVID-19 cases.
Ministry of Education, on 14 April 2021, announced that CBSE Board Exams of class 10, which were scheduled to be held between May 4 to June 14 have been cancelled and CBSE Board Exam of Class 12 has postponed.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has canceled the Class 10 board examinations and postponed the Class 12th board examinations in view of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases. The CBSE board examinations were scheduled to begin on May 4. The decision was taken after an important meeting of the Education Minister, other officials and officials of the CBSE Board headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Ministry of Education announced on 14 April that the CBSE board examination of Class 10, which was scheduled to be held between 4 May and 14 June, has been canceled. The Class X Board results will be prepared on the basis of an objective criterion to be developed by the Board. If a candidate claims non-satisfaction from the marks allotted to him/her, he/she will be given an opportunity to appear in the examination if it is favorable.
On the other hand, the class 12th examination, which was to be held from May 4 to June 14, has been postponed. According to the ministry, the situation will be reviewed by the board on 1 June 2021, and details will be shared later. At least 15 days notice will be given before the start of the examinations. In the midst of the rising COVID-19 wave, the decision was made keeping in mind the safety of students.

Any candidate who is not satisfied with the marks allocated to him/her on this basis will be given an opportunity to sit in an exam as and when the conditions are conducive to hold the exams.

The situation will be reviewed on 1st June 2021 by the Board, and details will be shared subsequently. A notice of at least 15 days will be given before the start of the examinations.

2. The Board Exams for Class Xth to be held from 4th May to June 14th, 2021 are hereby cancelled. The results of Class Xth Board will be prepared on the basis of an objective criterion to be developed by the Board.

This conclusion was reached after a two-round meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 14 April with Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' and other important MPs. Both meetings were chaired by the PM. During the meeting, officials proposed an alternative arrangement for conducting board exams this year, while also stating that it could be done online as in the previous year.
